Continuing Coverage of Columbia University Protest

It’s a crucial day in the standoff between pro-Palestinian students and Columbia University officials after a tense night on the Morningside Campus.
Around 4 a.m. Wednesday morning, the Office of the President said agreements have been reached to deescalate the situation: activists agreed to reduce the number of tents, comply with FDNY requirements and ask those not affiliated with the university to leave. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson is expected to visit Columbia and deliver a press conference.
